	EDGER SYSTEMS INCREASES WOOD RECOVERY Pacific Timber Engineering Ltd (PTEL) have pioneered a pre-positioned edger infeed system and an edger guide system, (button inserts), which are especially ideal for retrofit applications.The guide systems are now operating in numerous installations and have proven to provide excellent saw stability and control with greater accuracy, enabling sizing down to 25mm. Likewise, the edger pre-positioning system has proven very successful by using a camera vision system with PLC interface, allowing pre-drawn lines to establish optimum cutting solutions, being fast, accurate and user friendly. Sawmills employing this technology have reported significant wood recovery from their edger operations.
